Wendy Blom

Wendy Blom has an MA in Mass Communications from Emerson College and has worked in community media since 1997. She served as Executive Director of SMC when it was known as SCATV, from 2004 to 2015. After leaving Somerville she was E.D. at Lowell TeleMedia Center, operating both public and government channels, until her retirement in 2020. Giving local people and issues a free speech media platform has been her passion.

Wendy lives in Needham with David, her husband of 50 years. She has two children and four grandchildren, has traveled widely, plays bass guitar, and continues to be involved in community affairs. She hopes to use her years of experience in Somerville and community media to help guide SMC into a vibrant future.
