If you have an event you would like the Somerville community to know, submit it here!
Planning an event in Somerville this summer? Public Event license applications for events before Labor Day must be submitted online by Monday, July 10. Doing so ensures adequate processing time for the application to be submitted to the City Council before its summer recess begins at the conclusion of its meeting on July 13.
A Public Event license is required for any event that would close or physically occupy a public sidewalk, square, park, school playground, or other area; travel through a public space; or significantly affect nearby residents or public spaces. This includes block parties, public performances, parades, and road races, among others. There is no charge for a Public Event license.
Apply online through the City’s CitizenServe portal at somervillema.gov/CitizenServe.
Questions may be directed to the City Clerk at cityclerk@somervillema.gov.
Individuals with disabilities who need auxiliary aids and services for effective communication, written materials in alternative formats, or reasonable modifications in policies and procedures, in order to access the programs and activities of the City or to attend meetings, should contact the City’s ADA Coordinator, Adrienne Pomeroy, at 617-625-6600 x2059 or apomeroy@somervillema.gov.
