Holiday videos support SHC

Come to the SCAT Building to create a holiday video — and its free if you bring a personal care item for the Somerville Homeless Coalition.

Holiday videos are a tradition at SMC. Make a video as a group, as a family, or as a blooper reel. Use our green screen to put your group in a snowstorm, at a Christmas tree, a menorah, or with greetings for a happy new year or a blessed Kwanzaa,

Come in during the Union Square Holiday stroll Dec. 10, 12-6, and we’ll use our green screen to help you create a video memory.

All we ask is that you come prepared with an item for the Somerville Homeless Coalition. The needs change from year-to-year and client-to-client, but SHC has collected a list of the personal-care items needed this season:

The most-needed items are:

  • Laundry detergent (liquid or powder)
  • Dish Soap
  • Toilet Paper/Paper Towels
  • Baby wipes
  • Diapers, any size
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo
  • Body wash or soap
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Male/Female deodorants
  • Shaving razors

The mission of the Somerville Homeless Coalition is to provide homeless and nearly homeless individuals and families with individualized supportive services and tailored housing solutions with a goal of obtaining and maintaining affordable housing. The Somerville Homeless Coalition was created by the community’s grassroots response to the social crisis of homelessness in 1985.

Today, SHC transforms lives by providing services, support, and housing for nearly 9,000 individuals.
